KaalaGhoda Art Festival

The Kala Ghoda Art Festival is a nine-day extravaganza that sees Mumbai's Kala Ghoda Arts Precinct transformed into an open air exhibition space and stage show. This vibrant street festival includes arts and crafts, exhibitions, seminars, dance, music, theater, heritage walks, and special events for children. The great thing about it is that it's all free!


The kaleidoscope of art, culture and colours, Kala Ghoda is awaited most eagerly as it brings all the talent in the city together under one roof. From literature, dance, music, children’s activities and cooking to heritage walks, workshops, architecture and design – the Kala Ghoda festival has it all.

Wandering about...

Nasik

Situated on the banks of the sacred Godavri River, the city of Nasik is a perfect amalgamation of the old & new, the sacred & the intoxicating experiences.Perched at an altitude of 565 meter above the sea level, the city of Nasik revolves around the religious celebrations & fine wine.As India’s best wines are produced locally in Nasik, an afternoon touring the vineyards is another good reason to drop by.


Panchavati
Considered as one of the most holy spots, Panchavati is believed to to have been the shelter to Lord Ram, Lakshman and Sita during their exile.


Dudhsagar Waterfall
Located at a panoramic place, Dudhsagar Waterfalls in Someshwar is regarded as one among the best in the entire world itself. This cascading falls is a favourite picnic spot in the city, which offers picture book scenery.


Gangapur Lake
Around 13Kms from Nashik, it is a popular place for Bird watching, kayaking and boating facilities.


Sula Vineyards
Among the various grape producing areas of India, Nasik adorns a prominent position. The salubrious climate of this city is conducive for large-scale grape cultivation and is one of the famous vineyards in Nasik is Sula Vineyards.


From the Kitchen...

Batata Poha

BatataPoha is one of thefavouriteMaharashtrianBreakfast recipe made with poha, peanut and potato combination.


Ingredients:

  • Chiwda (flat rice/ Poha)- 1.5 cups
  • Boiled Potato - 1 medium sized chopped(comes to 1/3 cup)
  • Onion - 1 medium sized chopped finely
  • Peanuts - 2 tbsp
  • Lemon juice - 1 tsp
  • Sugar - 1 tsp
  • Salt - to taste

  • To Temper :
  • Oil - 2 tsp
  • Mustard seeds - 3/4 tsp
  • Jeera - 1 tsp
  • Curry leaves - a small sprig
  • Green Chilli - 1 chopepd finely


Directions:


Rinse and soak poha in water(just till immersing level) for 3-5mins.Meanwhile heat a pan with oil - add the items listed under 'to temper' let it splutter then add peanuts and roast till crispy.


Then add onion and fry till slightly browned then add boiled chopped potatoes along with turmeric powder.Mix well, then add sugar and give a quick stir.


By now poha must have absorbed the water, add the poha and give a quick stir until well blended. Garnish with coriander leaves and switch off. Add lemon juice and Relish it hot.
